Spring is here & you know what that means? It's time for clean up, clear out, and make space in your life for sunshine & the exciting things to come!
I don't know about you, but after spending a long, cold winter hibernating, there's just something about the Spring weather and energy always lights a fire in me.
Spring has the energy of a new beginning, more creativity, and joy all around.
This time of year makes me feel so inspired and ambitious which means it's a great time to start clearing the clutter in your kitchen, mind, and life.
When we clear out the clutter we space to think better, do more, and be who we really want to be.
Marie Kondo Your House
Have you read the book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up? If not, now is the perfect time to get to reading it. To give you a basic idea of the book is to clear the clutter in your home to make space for a more calm mindset. She suggests only holding on to things that are either useful or truly spark joy in your life. So start going through your house, room by room, and ask, "Do I use this? Does this spark joy?". If the answer is no then it's time to donate, sell, or throw it away.
Clean your Car, Garage, & Yard
Once your home is sparkling with joy, why not spread the love to other areas in your life such as your car, garage, yard, or anything else that may needs some clearing? Clear the clutter, organize, and clean up your space and you will begin to notice how your mind shifts.
Clear Out & Organize Your Pantry
Spring is a great time to go through the Pantry and get rid of any expired foods or unhealthy foods. It's also a good idea to organize and make your pantry look nice and accessible. This makes for a more pleasing experience every time you head to the pantry to grab a snack or make something yummy!
Clean Up Your Diet
I bet you knew this one was coming... Spring is the perfect time to reset and rebalance. Try to focus on high-quality whole foods and lots of water for at least a week to give yourself a nice reboot. You may also want to try to eliminate or limit inflammatory foods such as gluten, dairy, and sugar.
Care for Your Mind, Body, & Spirit
Once we get rid of the physical clutter it creates space in our mind and allows us to then focus on any internal "clutter". Perhaps you have some negative thoughts or limiting beliefs that you could work on changing. You could try journaling, affirmations, or meditation to really clear your mind and connect to your spirit. It's also a great idea to move your body in a way that you enjoy and really honor it for all that it does. I suggest taking your self-care practices up a notch and really scheduling in a little piece of heaven each day. Try taking a bath, lighting a candle, painting your nails, or whatever makes you feel calm and happy.
Tackle the Things You've Been Procrastinating On
If you're anything like me you have a long list of things you've been "meaning to do". Whether it's scheduling that dentist appointment, calling your Mom, visiting an old friend, or completing that project you started a year ago, it's time to prioritize these things that you've been putting off and put them in your calendar. It's so easy to put things off until you have more time or it's the perfect time, but the truth is that day may never come. It can also really weigh us down when we have this to do list in the back of our mind. So make a list of anything you've been putting off and get to work on it. I assure you, you will feel SO much better once you do!
Letting go of things, feelings, or anything that we have tight grip on can be hard, but it can also be so rewarding and therapeutic. If there is anything in your life that you can just let go of this is the perfect time to do it. Let go of toxic people, resentment, fear, negativity, clothes that don't fit, items you don't use, or whatever may be holding you back from truly being the person you desire to be.
Now, I bet you have a whole bunch of things to do so why don't you take advantage of the vibrant Spring energy and get started! Summer's right around the corner ;)
